I first came in contact with fabric at a very early age and came to realise what a central and fundamental part it plays in all our lives.
While fabric is predominantly used for practical means, my most satisfying work is experimental and creative.
My current focus is on fabric manipulation, principally influenced by Rutzky and Palmers 'Shadowfolds'. This technique follows some of the basic techniques of Japanese origami, instead using fabric in place of paper. I find particularly appealing the simplicity of the method that produces exquisite forms of colour, shade and dimension.
